        Verdict

        In a very tricky finale Nigella is a token choice to beat Deserted Dane and Mimi Mouse. Ed McMahon's filly took on some decent handicappers last season and wasn't beaten far off a mark of 90. She ran well enough on her return behind Bertoliver, should improve and has now dropped ten pounds in the handicap. Deserted Dane is from a yard that can do little wrong at present and a six penalty shouldn't stop this one going close. Meanwhile Mimi Mouse returned to form in great style with a game victory over course and distance. Many others have a chance here including the lightly raced Valery Borzov and the consistent How's She Cuttin' and so Nigella is only a tentative choice in a wide open contest.
