Verdict
Deserted Dane is worth chancing at the likely odds, while Ishetto, Valery Borzov and Windjammer can fight it out as the best of the rest. The last named has crept up the ratings after a series of good performances. The son of Kylachy likes to hear his hooves rattle and should appreciate the ground. As will Valery Borzov, whose third at Goodwood gives him a live chance on these terms. Watch the betting carefully where David Nicholls' charge is concerned. Ishetoo is another who receives little help from the handicapper and is set to race off a career highest mark. However, Deserted Dane is back in the right company this afternoon and, as he looks the best in at the weights on the pick of past form, Alan Swinbank's charge just gets the nod on this occasion
