In depth

Verdict

Not a lot of strength in depth so Primondo is chanced at the expense of Give Me A Dime and Corum. The selection did not run badly on debut on a surface that would not have suited, but Sunday's faster surface is likely to bring out the best in him and if the money is seen, it would be folly to ignore it. Give Me A Dime has to be respected with Timmy Murphy in the plate. He was not given a hard time during his Wincanton bumper and can be expected to have learnt plenty. Corum ran respectably at big odds at Hereford and the ex-John Gosden inmate could have a race within him under these conditions. Waltham Abbey is another who appears capable of improvement and was not too far away at Warwick on his latest start. Of the remainder, Ocean Pride and Major Matt are watched closely in the market. Deep Reflection has run well in bumpers on Lingfield's all-weather surface although enthusiasm has been dented by a number of stinkers since. A tough race in relation to a number of imponderables and Primondo rates as no more than a token selection.
