Verdict
Semi Precious can make the most of a decent mark and is selected to beat the reappearing duo Fair Question and Rescator. Semi Precious opened his account at Huntingdon six days ago in a race that was run at quite a strong pace, handling the ground well, and there is no reason why he should not put in a similar effort here off a modest weight. His fitness is also a key point as two of his major rivals are only just coming back to the fray. Fair Question comes from a stable very much in form and was on an upward curve when last seen finishing second at Bangor a year ago. A decent stayer on the Flat in France, he will have to brush up his jumping this season but will be one to follow when fully fit. Rescator had to be dropped to selling company to score at Hexham in May and needs to improve anyway, in addition to the fitness doubt, while Imtihan scraped home at Taunton to open his account over timber, but to be fair had previously taken on some useful animals. Shirazi was fairly useful for John Hills on the Flat and is capable of winning a race of this nature, but may struggle in the ground, and so with plenty going for him, Semi Precious is the percentage call.
