In depth
Verdict
With Jack Fuller yet to prove his effectiveness over this trip and Gola Supreme having disappointed of late, preference is for Maybeseven who should appreciate today's softer surface. The selection was a comfortable winner here over two furlongs shorter in November before finding conditions too fast on a return visit later that month. Robin Dickin's gelding unseated his rider at the third here on his return earlier this month and under favourable conditions looks worth a bet in a poor contest. Top weight Jack Fuller has to be respected on recent evidence but, as we have said, has yet to prove that he stays this far and of more interest may be Robert Alner's General O'Keeffe, who remains open to improvement and has claims on the form shown behind Gee Aker Malayo at Folkestone two starts ago. The 13-year-old Over Zealous has shown little sign of retaining his ability of late and a bigger threat may come from Richard Lee's Gola Supreme, who has slipped top a fair mark. Maybeseven holds solid claims though and he gets the vote.
