Verdict

Even though there has to be a suspicion that Three Secrets has been overrated on a mark of 80 for what she has actually achieved, she has a live chance at the weights for this maiden and is selected in preference to Moors Myth and Admiral Compton in a race that is not as daunting as the numbers set to take their chances would first suggest. That said, it may be worth monitoring for a move on Majors Cast, as he was initially an expensive purchase before changing hands for 38,000 euros as a foal. Even so, he may find a few of these have the edge in terms of experience and he is probably best watched for the time being. Both Moors Myth and Admiral Compton have shaped as if further will suit them better and they too are hard to get really enthusiast about for a maximum stakes play. So we return to Three Secrets now that she has spent a little more time under the supervision of Peter Chapple-Hyam. The daughter of Danehill, who was put in her place by Carry On Katie on her debut last July, Subsequently ran a better race than her finishing position would suggest when finishing seventh in the Lowther last August. Once raced since then, we are yet to see the best out of this half-sister to Prix de L'Abbaye winner Carmine Lake. Which combined with her trainer's aptitude for improving horses of her type, Three Secrets is given another chance to shine in this less exalted company.
