Verdict
An uninspiring contest for gentleman amateur riders to entice punters here, with a short-list of Digger, Irie Rasta, Christmas Truce and Ipledgeallegiance, with the latter taken to get back to winning ways. Ipledgeallegiance did us a favour when scoring at Ayr the time before last, his first success in four years. He had been threatening to get back to winning ways on a number of occasions and duly did the business in that class F handicap. Beaten less than six lengths in the Cumberland Plate at Carlisle last time, he will find this less exacting and can return to the winner's enclosure. Irie Rasta was a beaten favourite at Windsor but is better treated than when winning at Haydock on fast ground last summer, so should not be ruled out, while Christmas Truce nearly took a claimer at Wolverhampton last week and is coming to hand. Digger comes from an in-form yard and showed he goes well for an amateur when given a patient ride by Emily Jones to return to winning ways at Ripon. They then are the leading candidates and as stated earlier, we stay loyal to Ipledgeallegiance.
