In depth

Verdict

Billion Dollar Kid, Marning Star and Midnite Blews are the three to take against the field here, with Billion Dollar Kid taken to extend the good run of Richard Hannon. Midnite Blews handled the testing conditions well at Folkestone last time, finishing second after two promising efforts. He clearly has ability but may not be good enough against some classy opponents. Mick Channon's Marning Star was disappointing at Windsor on his debut, but was backed as if improvement was expected at Thirsk next time. He tried to make virtually all the running but was headed inside the final furlong, finishing second. He is respected. Billion Dollar Kid was easy to back on his Newbury bow, but shaped encouragingly, staying on well to go second in the closing stages. The yard is flying, and Billion Dollar Kid looks set to continue Richard Hannon's fine form.
