Verdict

Guilded Warrior, Material Witness and Barons Spy catch the eye in this small field and Guided Warrior can continue his winning ways. Material Witness ran well to hit the frame at Goodwood last time, but does not have winning form in ground this testing, and it would be a surprise if he could score here. However, this is likely to be a tactical affair, and he does have good pace. Barons Spy can handle cut in the ground, but his attempts on ground this testing have been limited, albeit encouraging. He was well beaten at Newbury last time after finishing second twice, and he can go well. Guilded Warrior has won two of his last three starts and was placed on testing ground in between. He is on the upgrade and looks fully capable of handling this rise in class. With doubts about the opposition's ability to handle the ground, Guilded Warrior could well outbattle his opponents here.
