Verdict
Rowan Lodge, Surwaki and Rafferty make the shortlist here, with Rowan Lodge set to be rewarded for his consistency and take this. Surwaki is only a modest performer, but he finished runner-up at Yarmouth two outings ago and is capable of playing a part here. He handles cut and in this company can play a part in the finish. Rafferty is something of an all-weather specialist, and makes a rare turf appearance here. He is difficult to win with, but has run some good races in defeat, a role he looks set to continue here. Rowan Lodge took a claimer at Yarmouth in October last year when there was cut in the ground, and after being beaten in a seller was promptly dropped ten pounds in the ratings. He was beaten only just over three lengths at Newmarket last time, and he looks the most reliable performer in the field. Rowan Lodge can land this poor contest.
