In depth
Verdict
Pebble Bay is on a roll, and can make the most of the stone that he receives from Constantine, with Roobihoo, Ramblees Holly and Stan worth a mention. Pebble Bay progressed from winning a selling handicap at Sedgefield to landing slightly better races at Catterick and Haydock, and there was a lot to like about his latest victory as he shot clear. The drop back to two and a half miles did not bother him and in his current form, the 10-year-old can pay to follow again. Constantine responded to first-time blinkers to score at Fontwell last time, but will struggle with his weight again, and has to give a stone to the selection here. Roobihoo has also been going up the weights, but was only just touched off at Kelso recently, and will be there or thereabouts, while Ramblees Holly has not had a great deal of racing lately and is another for the short-list. He was given a confident ride by today's pilot when beating Bollin Annabel at Hexham, and as that was only his second outing since August, he will strip even fitter now and will like the ground. Stan will appreciate the drop in grade after taking on Arcalis and company at the Cheltenham Festival and he too should make his presence felt, but Pebble Bay is preferred.
