Verdict
Ossmoses is consistent and can return to winning ways at the expense of Rosie Redman, Coursing Run and The Kew Tour to name but three. This is the best race on the card, and we shall take Ossmoses to make amends for his narrow defeat by Malek in the Borders National at Kelso. He went down fighting that day, and had earlier beaten Tolouse-Lautrec at Uttoxeter, a race that has worked out very well. Don Forster has been patient with his eight-year-old who has only had eight career starts to date, five of them coming here at Wetherby, and as long as the ground stays on the soft side, the son of Roselier can get back to winning ways. He just needs to brush up his jumping, but otherwise has the form to beat Rosie Redman, another that has been doing well in the main this season. Like the selection, she too is by Roselier and will not mind the ground, and as she returned from a two-month break due to the virus when winning easily at Kelso last time, it is safe to assume that she will play a major part here. Coursing Run was an easy winner at Warwick last time but has to give weight to Ossmoses, while Freetown was beaten when falling behind the selection at Kelso, although his stable won this last year with Joe Blake. A bigger danger may be The Kew Tour who finished a close third to Inca Trail no less at Sandown. Although the latter won a shade cosily, that was still a fair effort, and Sue Smith's charge should not be disgraced. A good contest on paper can go to Ossmoses.
