Verdict
A moderate contest to go out on can go to Notaproblem who has at least been consistent, with Snow's Ride and Lord Rodney the other leading candidates. Plenty of these can be safely ruled out in the finale, and Notaproblem has obvious claims on his efforts so far this season. Geoff Harker's six-year-old won a bumper here in February, and shaped well when chasing home Fair Spin over two miles on heavy ground on his timber debut at Newcastle last time. The step up in trip will come in handy, so he appears to have a lot going for him in the context of this poor race. Snow' Ride is a half-brother to Lancashire Oaks winner Ela Athena, but his best efforts on the Flat have been on the all-weather. He has 16 lengths to make up on Lord Rodney after finishing third to Peter Beaumont's runner here in March, but that was his first outing since October so he should reduce the deficit on that rival at least, with a recent spin on the Flat at Pontefract to sharpen him up. The latter has since been pulled up at Hexham, and he too will have to bounce back to stop Notaproblem from taking the last race on the card.
