Verdict

Portmanteau looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to follow up her Newbury success of last week and is taken to score at the main expense of Motorway and Credit. The last mentioned has struggled in handicaps since winning his maiden but gave signs of encouragement at Newmarket last month and it would be dangerous to dismiss him lightly. Course and distance maiden winner Motorway is the least exposed of the seven runners but looks to have been done few favours by the handicapper and preference is for Portmanteau. Sir Michael Stoute's filly won a similar race with a bit in hand at Newbury last week and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to prevent her from following up in what looks a weaker event. Arrgatt opened his account at the fifth time of asking at Hamilton last month and has to be respected on his debut in this grade, while Breathing Sun has given little sign of encouragement this term and is probably best watched at present. Magic Amigo and American Duke make limited appeal in a race that is taken to go to Portmanteau.
