In depth

Verdict

A race in which the market might provide some important clues and in which a number have to be considered, but John Gosden's Baraloti might just provide the answer. Second to Three Graces on her Goodwood return, she should be sharper now and this looks like her type of trip. As mentioned, though, a number of others have to be considered. Moarban has been a little disappointing since his debut second to Trade Fair but ran well enough at Bath last time over this trip. That said, on breeding, he ought to be more suited by 10 furlongs at least. Sninfia is certainly entitled to some thought based on her fourth to Alnasreya at Newmarket, although the winner has been beaten at odds on since. Alnasreya's trainer Sir Michael Stoute runs the newcomer Odabella's Charm in this, and any market moves should be heeded. Michael Jarvis and Hughie Morrison each also field debutantes in Sri Angkasa and Revolve, respectively, which adds further spice to an interesting contest. Andrew Balding's Sadika, despite being a half-sister to Sueboog and Best Of The Bests, has shown little in two starts. Sacred Love is another to watch in the market. Ed Dunlop's filly certainly showed promise at two, although further than this mile might suit her in time. Peter Harris fields two, the better of which might prove to be Young Safawan, who has also shown some promise. Eddie Ahern has been booked for his other runner, Serbelloni, who also cannot be ruled out. Not a race that can be approached with confidence but Baraloti, with her stable now showing some decent form, could be the one.
