In depth
Verdict
In another extremely tough race, Den's Joy just gets the vote ahead of Ash Monn, Zafarshah, Archirondel and Learned Lad. Having disappointed in her recent outings on the all-weather, Den's Joy bounced back to form on turf when third behind a couple of unexposed three-year-olds in a fillies' handicap at Yarmouth last time. Darryll Holland is on board here, but the key factor in giving her the nod is that she has won four times at Windsor in the past, so seems sure to give us a good run for our money. Ash Moon is an interesting contender on her first start for Willie Musson. Formerly trained by Karl Burke, she was second in Listed company as a juvenile so is potentially 'thrown in' off a mark of 59 here. However, she may be just best watched for the time being, although any strong market support could suggest otherwise. Learned Lad ran well enough when third at Folkestone last time, having previously won on Polytrack at Lingfield, and is another for the shortlist. Others include Zafarshah and Archirondel, second and fourth in a similarly competitive race at Thirsk last time, with the latter just fancied to reverse the form, having been drawn high that day and pushed wide on the bend. College Delinquent, Tiger Tops, Shore Vision and Lobos would all have good claims on their all-weather form, but it remains to be seen how they will fare on returning to turf.
