In depth
Verdict
Inch By Inch is on a roll at present and can score again at the expense of On The Trail and Pulse. Inch By Inch has been well placed by Peter Makin to land his last three engagements, and it was no surprise when he justified favouritism at Nottingham last time. That race was not much better than this one it has to be said, and as long as he is kept at this level, the son of Inchinor will be a danger to all. This will be his first attempt on the new surface although he has raced on Lingfield's Polytrack in the past. On The Trail had his first taste of the new underfoot terrain here when trying to make all over seven furlongs last time. He faded to finish fourth and the drop back in trip should help. However, he is rated lower than the selection but has to carry more weight today so has it to do. Pulse has been nothing if not consistent but looks held as well on running behind Inch By Inch at Chepstow in September. He should still make a bold bid for the frame again though, but we still prefer Inch By Inch at the weights.
