    Verdict

It is interesting that Ed Dunlop has chosen to come here with handicap debutante Atheer, who looks to have been let in lightly off a mark of 70, despite having to give weight away all round. She, along with Icecap, recent winner And Toto Too and Lauro look the most likely to be involved in the finish, with Atheer getting the nod. A half-sister to a couple of winners including useful 10-furlong winner Tough Men, she showed enough in maidens to suggest she can make her mark in this sort of company. The step up in trip should prove beneficial and she is taken to lose her maiden tag. Another making her handicap debut is Icecap, who showed enough on her last visit here to be of interest at this level. She doesn't look badly treated off 65, which is little better than a platers mark and must go well, despite her wide draw. There should be little between And Toto Too and Lauro (first and third here recently), on these revised terms, but this longer trip may suit the latter better and she should certainly be capable of more improvement of the pair as she has only had the six outings to date, compared to the 17 runs of And Toto Too.
