An interesting contest to start the day with most of these open to some improvement. Branston Melody, Brooklands Time and Emaradia look the ones to concentrate on, with Brooklands Time getting a narrow vote ahead of Branston Melody. Ian Woods filly shaped with plenty of promise from a wide draw on her debut at Leicester and if you forget about the runaway winner La Cucaracha, who is said to be Royal Ascot bound, she was only beaten a length by the runner-up, who had previously filled the same spot in a hot race at Headquarters. That form looks head and shoulders above that shown by any of her rivals and providing she handles this slower surface, looks the one to be with. Branston Melody, out of a mare that won six races, two as a juvenile, shaped a little better last time after missing the break, something she had done on her debut. She will need to break on terms in this if she is to play a part. Emaradia, who has been tried in both blinkers and a visor, is a pacey filly and does have experience of the Fibresand, but she has had three runs now and it will be something of a surprise if something doesn't improve past her.
