Verdict
Pancakehill, a consistent if somewhat frustrating filly, is one to oppose rather than to follow, but in what can only be described as a moderate contest, she looks sure to play her part, along with Eurolink Artemis and course and distance winner Nod's Nephew, who is the choice. Nod's Nephew lacks consistency, but there is no doubt he is well treated on his best form, some 14lbs lower than when last successful here just over a year ago when ridden by another apprentice. He clearly goes well for an inexperienced rider and is worth taking a chance with at a decent price. Pancakehill has one of the more experienced apprentice's on board and will be a warm order, but as previously stated, she isn't the easiest of rides and she looks to have her work cut out from her wide draw. Eurolink Artemis comes into this on the back of a solid effort on turf at Ponterfract, when ridden by the same apprentice who takes the reins again today. The partnership have only been unplaced once in six outings together and represents a big threat today.
