Verdict
Hidden Jewel stands out and is a confident choice to beat Gaudalpin, with Llamadas and Our Little Secret to be considered for a place as well. Hidden Jewel has a first-rate chance of opening his account after some decent efforts against better opposition this term. Bryan McMahon's colt improved out of all recognition when only beaten a head by Pivotal Flame in a valuable sales race at Doncaster, meeting the winner on over four stone worse terms than in a handicap. He got bogged down in the very testing conditions at Haydock next time but still managed to finish third, and a reproduction of those efforts should suffice. Gaudalpin has been placed in minor company and has it to do based on a lacklustre effort here last time, while Llamadas will do well to give weight to the selection. Our Little Secret is slowly getting the hang of things and may be involved for a while at least, but Hidden Jewel can shine in this company.
