In depth

Verdict

Fastrac Boy won last time out but will struggle to repeat that on his first foray into handicap company, and so is overlooked in favour of Compton Classic, with Carcinetto rating as another danger. The selection has been running consistently well this season and can improve on his all-weather record of one first and a second from three attempts, and Jim Goldie's runner should appreciate the fast pace that looks likely. Tony Carrol turns out Sofinella again quickly, and with his record at the track he can not be discounted at a larger price. Carcinetto won a seller last time out over a trip that slightly stretches her stamina, and a drop back to the minimum trip today could see her go well again. Fastrac Boy made all when winning last time out, however he will find it much harder to dominate this field and so is passed over in favour of the selection who can swoop late to pick up the prize.
