In depth

Verdict

A competitive nursery, in which Nicada gets the vote ahead of recent winner Jord, Copper King and Lay The Cash. Jord was impressive when winning over six furlongs at Southwell on Tuesday and shouldn't mind this step up in trip, however she had previously been firmly put in her place over this course and distance by the selection back in October, and also has a penalty to contend with. Lay The Cash battled hard to win last time out but that could have taken it out of him and this may come a bit too soon, whilst Copper King may require a bit further to show his true colours. Gay Kelleway has a good record at the track, especially with her two-year-olds, and the selection is taken to add another to that tally as it steps back in trip after a slightly disappointing effort over the extended mile last time out. The tentative selection then is Nicada.
