Verdict
There is no getting away from Compton Bolter in this race, and he gets the call over Moayed, with Te Quiero possibly proving best of the rest. The selection is very decent on his day and comes out comfortably clear of his nearest rival, Moayed, based on adjusted ratings. Given that he acts here, he looks to hold very solid claims in this valuable affair. Maoyed has done little wrong of late, winning over course and distance before running with great credit when dropped to six furlongs at Lingfield for his latest outing. However, on today's terms, we prefer the selection. Te Quiero stepped up in first-time blinkers last time to win a valuable seven-furlong affair at Southwell and holds place claims again, while Cardinal Venture has three lengths to find on that form, although he holds the better course form. Finally, Kandidate could be an improver from the Clive Brittain camp and Stedfast McStaunch might also have improvement to come but is debuting on this surface. Overall, then, as we say, it brings us back to Compton Bolter, who gets the vote in this race.
