In depth
Verdict
Division one of the maiden can got to Red Chairman, who looks to hold a very solid chance, with Heybrook Boy and possibly Viscount Rossini proving best of the rest. Once again, it looks as though David Loder holds the key to this contest and Red Chairman looks much the stronger of his two representatives. The $150,000 son of Red Ransom was only just beaten over ten furlongs at Lingfield last time when stepped up in trip and, to be fair, that is far and away the best of the form to have been displayed by runners in this contest. Next best could be the Mark Johnston-trained Heybrook Boy's, whose second in a Musselburgh maiden in July suggested that he is up to winning a race of this nature. However, he has not raced since August and will be making his all-weather bow, which leads us to prefer the selection. Of the others, the 20,000gns purchase Viscount Rossini has something to like on breeding and could be one to watch out for, while we have surely yet to see the best of Cold Play. That said, the one to be on today looks to be Red Chairman.
