      Verdict

Our Tommy may gain another course and distance success over the likes of April Spirit, Harem Scarem and Frentzen. Our Tommy was all out to beat another of today's rivals, Mollycarrsbrekfast here 18 days ago, making a mistake at the eighth fence in the process. He only just does enough though, as witnessed by an earlier victory at Uttoxeter, so do not expect him to run them ragged here. However, he should be capable of further success from what is still a fair handicap mark compared to last year. April Spirit would be a live danger if it were not for the fact that he has been off for nearly a year and has topweight to overcome. Harem Scarem in contrast has a light weight and has been kept busy this summer. At the age of 13 there is no improvement to come but his latest second at Market Rasen was a commendable effort. Frentzen was pulled up at Stratford but goes well here and so nearly scored over the course and distance in July when beaten a short-head by Be The Tops. The third horse was 20 lengths away so a repeat of that form would see him placed at the very least. However, we just prefer the claims of Our Tommy today.
