Verdict
One or two interesting contenders here, with Lord Youky unlucky to have taken so long to drop through the weights, and three recent winners in Maidstone Monument, Manolito and our selection, Tambo. Mark Bradstock's charge has gone up 7lb for that latest success at Fontwell, when he got up by a neck to beat Dragon King over a quarter of a mile shorter than this three miles. The quicker ground should help him to get this extra trip here and as he comes here relatively fresh after 51 days off, he is taken to score again. Maidstone Monument heads the weights and carries a 7lb penalty for winning over course and distance last time. However, the likeable gelding does struggle to string two wins together and with that extra burden the outcome is likely to be the same here. He may just be good enough to sneak into the frame again though. Of the remainder, Manolito has also gone up 7lb for winning at Market Rasen last time, though he did have a bit in hand and can push the selection closest here. Lord Youky continues to fall through the weights gradually and it may still take another few pounds reduction before he is winning again, so the vote goes with Tambo.
