Sew'N'So Character and Under My Spell set a fair standard, but a chance is taken with the newcomer Fort Dignity, who is the main reason for the appearance of Kieren Fallon. An early foal, he is out of a mare that won on her racecourse debut, then went on to win at Listed level, before finishing runner-up in both the Irish 1000 Guineas and the Irish Oaks. He looks to have been found a nice opening and can prove too strong for Sew'N'So Character. Michael Blanchard's colt is clearly on the upgrade following his excellent effort behind one of the best colts seen out so far this year, Matloob. He sets a fair standard here and should the selection show any signs of greenness, he will be the one to take advantage. Under My Spell can be forgiven his effort on rain softened ground at Ponterfract last time, and he is better judged on his effort in the Listed National Stakes, where he was third to subsequent Norfolk Stakes winner Russian Valour. Nesnaas, from the same family as the French 1000 Guineas winner Ta Rib, is from a stable that is finding winners hard to come by. He is worth keeping an eye on for the future, but Fort Dignity will do for us.
