        Verdict

        Fulke Johnson Houghton's Rubies is becoming expensive to follow and again disappointed in a race that she had every chance of winning at Chepstow last time so is probably best passed over in a contest that is taken to go to Nan Scurry, who is preferred to Woolacombe Dream. The selection is clearly no world-beater but is progressing the right way and has been placed over this trip in her last two starts so, with the possibility of further improvement to come, she just gets the verdict. Sir Mark Prescott's Sunlit Skies failed to step up on her debut effort when below expectations at Thirsk last time and while the drop in trip may help it is far from certain to suit a filly that is stoutly bred on the dam's side. Luca Cumani's Donya One has given little sign of encouragement and of more interest may be Mark Wallace's Woolacombe Dream, who ran a race full of promise when a close fourth here on her debut last month. Jeremy Noseda's Nan Scurry is going the right way though and she is preferred.
