Successor has an obvious chance racing off the same mark as when a neck second behind Love You Always over course and distance in a lady riders handicap last week and is expected to confirm superiority over Margery Daw with Eminence Gift rated the best of the remainder. The selection obviously caught the eye of the handicapper last week as he is set to raise Mark Usher's gelding 5lbs for that run at the weekend and on the same terms today, Margery Daw has little chance of overcoming a three-lengthy deficit. Top weight Constructor has every chance on his best form but that has all been over shorter trips and he is far from certain to stay today's distance. George Margarson's Lenwade showed signs of a revival last week at Brighton and has to be respected on that evidence, while Milton Bradley's Devious Ayers has more to do than when landing a seller at the same venue last month. Royal Sailor is still open to improvement but needs to find it to trouble the selection and of more interest may be Eijaaz, who is gradually slipping to a fair mark. Eminence Gift took advantage of a favourable weight when landing a claimer here last week but this looks tougher under a penalty and preference is for Successor.
