    In depth

This is a decent conditions event and Goodricke could prove too classy for his rivals, the best of which could be Vortex and Corridor Creeper. The former David Loder inmate ended last campaign with a terrific victory in the Group one Sprint Cup at Haydock. This race is probably being used as a stepping stone to a crack at one of the big Autumn Sprints and he is very hard to oppose. Corridor Creeper has been running much better than his form figures suggest and with the stable going well at present he should be capable of reaching the frame. Vortex is getting on in years but still has plenty of ability. He is a horse that goes well when fresh and so the the two month break is in his favour and a big run can be expected. The pick of the others could be Turn On The Style, but for Goodricke this should be just a gentle workout before going on to much better things.

Corridor Creeper (FR) 33-1 (9-9) Behind, ridden over 2f out, never on terms, 12th of 19, 8l behind Fantasy Believer (8-13) at York 5f hcap (2) gd.

Goodricke 14-1 (8-12) Hampered start, held up, headway 2f out, soon hard ridden, led inside final furlong, ran on, won at Haydock 6f Grp 1 (1) gd in Sept '05 beating La Cucaracha (8-11) by 1l, 17 ran.

Vortex 5-1 (9-2) Held up chasing group, outpaced 2f out, soon beaten, weakened and eased final furlong, last of 5, 32l behind Momtic (8-9) at York 1m stk (3) gf in Jul.

Blue Tomato 9-1 (8-6) Held up, never on terms, 9th of 11, 6l behind Gimasha (9-0) at Lingfield 6f hcap (2) gd.

Dutch Key Card (IRE) 300-1 (8-7) Chased leaders, ridden halfway, weakened final furlong, 4th of 7, 8l behind Tax Free (8-7) at Leicester 5f stk (4) gf.

Riotous Applause 20-1 (8-11) Slowly into stride, in rear, never dangerous, 7th of 10, 4 1/2l behind Donna Blini (8-11) at Newmarket 6f 2yo fll Grp 1 (1) gd.

Turn On The Style 6-1 (8-11) Held up, ridden halfway, eased when no impression inside final furlong, 8th of 11, 10l behind Johnston's Diamond (8-10) at Haydock 6f stk 0-80 (4) gs in Sept '05.

Tipsy Lillie 33-1 (9-2) Raced far side, behind, pushed along halfway, headway over 1f out, ran on inside final furlong to take 2nd near finish, 2nd of 12, 1 1/2l behind Limonia (9-5) at Folkestone 6f fll hcp (6) gs in Aug.
