In depth
Verdict
Circassian showed improved form last time and can land this competitive handicap from Great View and Wellington Hall. The step up to 12 furlongs was just what Sir Mark Prescott's gelding needed, and he ran a blinder to finish a second behind Topkat at Salisbury. If running up to that form he must have a tremendous chance off today's handicap mark. Great View and Wellington Hall met at Warwick last time in the race won by Smart John. Great View had a neck to spare over his rival on that occasion and is just a pound worse off, so these too once again will be difficult to separate. Best of the rest could be Carrowdore, who doesn't know how to run a bad race, however Circassian is the pick of the weights and gets the verdict.
