      Verdict

A potentially informative maiden to begin proceedings. Several leading yards are doubly represented with the once-raced Alwahsh looking a better bet than sprint-bred Hakeem of William Haggas’ pair. Of Godolphin’s two runners, Big Orange’s half-brother Stormy Blues may have a better long-term future than Soldier Blue but may find this on the short side. Free Forum looks modest but David Simcock’s other runner, Marine One, is an interesting debutant as he holds entries in both the Dante and the Derby, though is another who’ll need further. Dutch Quality cost 280,000gns as a yearling and has shown some ability but the vote goes to MOOLTAZEM. Related to a French 6f winner, he should stay this mile and it’s significant that Jim Crowley rides in preference to a couple of others.
