        Verdict

        A very modest handicap with Robert Cowell, Christine Dunnett and John Jenkins complicating matters by all fielding two runners. The latter’s OSCARS JOURNEY gets a tentative vote given he’s not been beaten far on Southwell’s fibresand in two runs this year and races off a lower mark today - the booking of Silvestre De Sousa is another positive. Stablemate Only Ten Per Cent also has a squeak and Strictly Carter is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Wolverhampton in February. Chelmsford runner-up Hurricane Alert has yet to manage a victory in 23 attempts.
