Verdict

Galandora is taken to shrug off a six-pound penalty over the similarly penalised Prince Of The Wood, with My Legal Eagle and Smarter Charter others to consider. The final race on the card, confined to apprentices, should see Galandora go close to adding to his recent tally with conditions in his favour. The four-year-old stays well and will be suited by the long finishing straight on the Knavesmire. In addition, Lucy Russell gets on well with him, having been on board for both his victories, at Musselburgh and earlier at Southwell. Prince Of The Wood also lines up on the back of a last-time-out win at Wolverhampton where he held on well from My Legal Eagle. The latter is now much better off at the weights, and is still capable of winning at the age of ten. There should not be too much between that pair, while Smarter Charter has a very light weight, but does not make as much appeal on recent evidence. So, for the winner we return to Galandora.
