Verdict

Kynren deserves a change of luck but this is another tough handicap and the assessor refuses to release his grip. Front-runners have been doing well on the round course here this week so Club Wexford could be interesting if back on song from a decent draw. Gulf Of Poets has the inside berth but Mick Easterby’s charge hasn’t raced since second at Ripon in June. Waarif is back on the same mark as when successful 12 months ago so has to go on the shortlist but a couple of three-year-olds may have his measure this time. IRREVERENT wasn’t hard pressed to beat Smile A Mile a length-and-a-half at Thirsk and can confirm that form on 3lb worse terms with further improvement likely in first-time cheekpieces.
