In depth

Verdict

Farlington, Super Sammy, Garde Bien and Little Docker should all go well here and we will side with the course and distance winner Little Docker. The selection was a faller last time out at Wetherby but had previously run with some credit despite not jumping all that fluently. He was a smart hurdler who has yet to transfer that form to fences, but if has learnt from his last fall and can get his jumping back on track then he looks the one to beat. Super Sammy was sent off as favourite at Sedgefield last time out but unseated his rider at the first, and he is another who is respected as a leading contender if he jumps well. Farlington was second in that same race at Sedgefield and with the Howard Johnson string in good form he looks to have fairly solid place claims. Garde Bien is from a top yard and showed some promise from his chasing debut when second behind Ocean Dancer at Doncaster, but he still showed signs of greenness in that race and may find a couple too good here. Of the rest, Lochbuy Junior can not be ruled out, but we are happy to side with Little Docker.
