        Verdict

High draws have historically done well in this race and while No Time could be better drawn, he is in form, looks to be on the right side of the draw and should be too good for Smart Hostess and Maktavish. Smart Hostess is no stranger to Yorkshire racegoers having posted a double at Pontefract and Doncaster at the back end of the season. The handicapper has taken a note of this but she has been capable of running well fresh in the past. Maktavish took advantage of a drop in class to score recently on the all-weather surface at Southwell. His use of early pace will be an obvious positive here and the very useful Paul Hanagan has been employed to do the steering. Awake is an interesting part of the David Nicholls raiding party. On his best form he would have a squeak and the rare booking of Martin Dwyer certainly catches the eye. Piccled won this for Eric Alston last year but has yet to sparkle this term. A tough race in which the much improved No Time is given the verdict.
