In depth

Verdict

Crosspeace will be running out of friends if he cannot deliver in this company and is preferred to Boule D'Or and True Cause, while Impeller is a tough individual that should also run his race. Impeller came good around this time last year and his attitude is hard to crab. However, he does appear weighted to the hilt just now and it will take a good effort from him to end 16-race his losing run. True Cause has not been seen out since finishing fifth in the Royal Lodge Stakes last September. He has to be respected but the form of the Godolphin horses has caused too much consternation for him to be recommended with any confidence. Boule D'Or is closely matched with the selection after their encounter at Royal Ascot and has to be rated as a threat again. However, Crosspeace comes here on the back of his best effort for quite some time and, with his yard in sparkling form, everything has fallen into place for him at the right time for him.
