Verdict
Bahamiian Sunrise won this last year from a higher mark but hasn't been in that kind of form subsequently. Boom The Groom was only fourth a year ago but not beaten far and has been running well enough to get into contention. He's closely matched with Shamshon on their 1-2 at Wolverhampton in February while Midnight Malibu won here in 2017 and is capable of winning again from this mark, despite a penalty for her Southwell victory. DARK SHOT hasn't won since Ascot in 2016 but is invariably thereabouts at this level and has dropped to his lowest mark since that victory so gets the nod with his rider's claim a bonus. Merry Banter won three times last summer and will be better for her run at Musselburgh while Duke Of Firenze almost always runs well on the track and is on a handy mark.
