Verdict

Arcara looked a nice prospect when beating much better fancied rivals over 5f at Dundalk and a mark of 70 doesn't look excessive for her handicap debut. The former UK-based Rateel ran a nice race over 7f at Gowran on Monday but may be better over that sort of trip. BLAIRMAYNE had been threatening to win for some time before Kieren Fallon brought him with a well-timed challenge to score over 7f here last week. He was always travelling nicely so the shorter trip won't be a problem and a 5lb penalty can be brushed aside. Pillar, who was beaten just over two lengths into third in that latter event, should get closer on the revised terms while Bambari made a satisfactory reappearance and handicap debut over the minimum at Cork. Set To Fire tackles this trip on fast ground for the first time which should aid his cause but Crazy Tornado has only run at Dundalk and has enough weight.
