In depth
Verdict
A typically open sprint but Zuhair is something of a standing dish at this venue and is taken to win the race named in his honour at the chief expense of stable mate Flak Jacket along with the Milton Bradley pair, Tappit and Whistler. The selection was well below his best last time but is a different proposition at this course having won six times at the Sussex track and looks fairly treated on the pick of his form so is expected to come with his familiar late rattle under regular rider Alex Greaves. Flak Jacket finished last on his first two starts this term but showed signs of a return to form when a close fourth at Pontefract last time to suggest he will be thereabouts off a lenient mark. Tappit comes here in excellent heart and followed a comfortable Bath success with a fine placed effort at Warwick so has to enter calculations while Whistler looked unlucky when collared in the final stride at Sandown last week and will go close off the same mark. Aahgowangowan and cerulean Rose are recent winners worthy of consideration but Zuhair is hard to oppose here and should give a good account once again.
