    Verdict

A 6lb penalty for his win at Windsor at the beginning of the month makes this more difficult for Gloucester and Michael Scudamore's gelding may have to settle for minor honours in a race taken to go to SALOON, who gets the vote ahead of Sinbad The Sailor. The John Hills-trained gelding is another that carries a penalty, having won well in a 1m2f handicap at Brighton on Sunday and he has to be respected but may not appreciate the step up to 1m4f. Andy Crook's All In The Red has run well in his last two starts and should be thereabouts again, while Masterofceremonies has struggled of late and looks a doubtful stayer. Stringsofmyheart ran better at Chepstow last time and has slipped to a fair mark so cannot be discounted if able to reproduce a similar level of form off what seems a fair mark. Preference though is for Jane Chapple-Hyam's Saloon, who has transferred his improved form on the Polytrack through to turf with a decisive win at Goodwood last time. A 7lb rise for that success is perfectly fair and Saloon can win again.
