Jeremy Noseda's Fasliyev colt Major Lawrence would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning debut in this maiden and certainly makes more appeal than stable companion Sleepy Blue Ocean but the best form is held by RAINY NIGHT and he is preferred. The selection has run better in handicaps in his last two starts having shown some promise in maidens previously and Reg Hollinshead's colt looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account. Eric Alston's Star Addition, a son of Medicean makes plenty of appeal on pedigree but the yard is not known for great success with their runners first time out. Say You Say Me failed to build froma promising debut outing at Chester as a two-year-old when well beaten on his reappearance at Doncaster and of more interest may be Dilli Dancer, who belied odds of 66/1 when a close fifth at Salisbury last month. Major Lawrence has to be of interest on his debut but preference is for the proven form of Rainy Night.
