In depth
Verdict
Karl Burke's Capetown Girl showed improved form when tackling soft ground for the first time at Pontefract recently and is taken to follow up in this weak handicap, with Commitment Lecture and Ellen Mooney rated the main dangers. The selection steps into handicap company for the first time today but there does not seem to be a great deal of strength in depth among the opposition and she looks worth a bet. Oh So Rosie has form with cut in the ground but has yet to prove her effectiveness under conditions as testing as this, while Cloudless has yet to prove she can handle any turf conditions as most of her form is on the all-weather. Sienna Sunset and Printsmith are both worthy of a mention but a bigger threat to the selection is likely to come from Commitment Lecture. The Michael Dods-trained filly has slipped to a fair mark and goes on the ground. Similar comments apply to Ellen Mooney, who has been running on the sand this winter but the vote goes to Capetown Girl who won with plenty in hand at Pontefract and could easily follow up in this company.
