Verdict
Not a handicap to get heavily involved in and we will take a chance on Delaware to overturn form with Esterelle, while Silver Dagger can also be thereabouts. Martin Pipe-trained Delaware has not won for two years, and has subsequently dropped from a mark of 113 right down to 87 for this contest. However, this trip does suit him, as do fast conditions, and if he shows anything like his ability then he can take this off a mark he clearly can perform from. Esterelle is now 19lb worse off with Delaware than when thrashing him last time they met, but is right up at the head of the weights, and even though these conditions will suit, he does look to have a few pounds too many now, having been raised for finishing runner-up last time. Of the others, Silver Dagger is capable of a good run off this mark. His latest start proves that he stays this trip, though he has never won on ground faster than good, and he will find it difficult here, but we will take Delaware to come good again to small stakes.
