Verdict
Don't Tell Rosey should have improved enough to defy topweight here, with Glencoe Solas, Mimic and St Ivian taken to give him most to do. Michael Blanshard's charge had been unlucky not to lose his maiden tag before battling home at Folkestone-he met trouble in running in a stronger race at Sandown-but now that he has opened his account, his trainer is confident that he can continue to pay his way. The opposition tonight is fair but not that strong and he should follow up. Glencoe Solas has won here before in maiden company and more recently at Windsor. Both successes however came over six furlongs, and although she did score over five on her debut in Ireland, she is likely to be taken off her feet. Mimic was fancied at Warwick but it appears that the handicapper may have her measure at present as she failed to pick up when asked, while St Ivian is a bit of a character who requires strong handling or he is likely to hang when going through with his effort. So, weighing up all the options, Don't Tell Rosey is the call.
