    Verdict

Kieren Fallon can send his legion of followers home happy, with Summer Shades taken to oblige over Strathspey and Ciel. Summer Shades had been an unlucky sort for most of the season until opening her account at Pontefract under a strong ride from the champion. That was only the second time that he had sat on her, and he definitely made the difference. It is no surprise that Mark Brisbourne has booked him again, and she can follow up off a slightly higher mark. Strathspey seems to be coming to hand but she will struggle to get there if asked to come from off the pace as she was asked to do over the course and distance last time, while Ciel was highly tried in the Lingfield Oaks Trial on her reappearance. Michael Bell will set her sights lower and is sure to place her to score this season. The drop back in trip is a bit of a worry however, and on this occasion she is passed over, as we stay loyal to Summer Shades.
