Verdict
A typically open Showcase sprint handicap with several leading contenders and marginal preference is for Dubaian Gift ahead of Roses Of Spring, Greenwood and Byo. Andrew Balding's Dubaian Gift was a most progressive performer last season notching four victories and shaped as though returning to form when not disgraced in a valuable event at Epsom last month. The four-year-old remains on a fair mark and looks capable of taking advantage of the significant ease in grade before tackling better company in due course. Roses Of Spring comes here in excellent heart following her Redcar success earlier in the month but faces no easy task under a 7lb penalty while last month's Windsor winner Greenwood was below his best last time and is ideally suited by an extra furlong. Byo is a consistent performer and could pose a bigger threat in receipt of plenty of weight from his main rivals.
