Verdict
A very competitive field contest this ten furlong handicap in which My Maite, Anyhow and Lyrical Way are three to consider but Compton Drake is just preferred. Gerard Butler¿s four-year-old took advantage of a lenient handicap mark when slaughtering his rivals at Musselburgh at the start of the month, there is no problem with the surface as he ran well here back in January and he will take all the beating. Anyhow has been in great form in recent weeks with victories at Warwick, Salisbury and here, the handicapper may just have him in his grasp but nevertheless a good run is expected. Meanwhile Lyrical Way bounced back to form with a recent second at Nottingham and looks fairly treated. However My Maite appears to be the main danger to the selection having chased home the well handicapped Labrett last time over a shorter trip. Today¿s distance will be ideal for the Ingram runner but Compton Drake may just have his measure.
